Since the season is over - here is the WGI performance video. Even with a few technical glitches they still made the finals!! Way to go!!

2012 SCGC and Alabama State Champions

What an amazing year!!! The Sparkman Indoor Percussion once again took the title of SCGC and Alabama State Champions!!! For those of you who weren't able to make the performance, here is the video from the last rehearsal. (No video taping was allowed at the Championships). We are all so proud of them!! Their hard work has definately paid off!!!

Dinner and a Show


The reigning SCGC Gold Medalist Sparkman Winterguard and Indoor Percussion Ensemble would like to invite you to their 1st Annual Dinner and a Show on March 8th, 2012 at 6:30 PM in the Sparkman 9th Grade School Cafeteria/Gymnasium.

Tickets to the event are $10.00 each, and include 1 dinner and admission to the SWG and SIP performances. The event is being catered by Smokey's BBQ. Dinner consists of 1 pork sandwich, sauce, potato salad, bbq beans, slaw, roll, tea or lemonade, and dessert. Please see a Sparkman Winterguard and/or Indoor Percussion member to pre-order tickets (tickets MUST be pre-ordered).

Schedule for the Evening:

6:15 PM Doors Open (cafeteria/gym doors at S9GS)

6:30 PM Dinner begins

7:30 PM Sparkman Winterguard Performance in gym

7:45 PM Sparkman Indoor Percussion Performance in gym

8:00 PM Conclusion

All proceeds go to the Sparkman Winterguard and Indoor Percussion Ensemble.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm taking over the SHS drumline blog from Ms. Bev. I'll try my best but I'm sure it won't be near as good as Bev's!! End of the Year Celebration

The SIP celebrated their success this season with an end-of-the-year party.  All of the parents pitched in with the food, Nancy Tolliver brought an incredible cake, and Tom Sheil was in charge of awards for the afternoon...awards like "Student Most Likely to Break Out in Song" and "The Raisin Award" just to name a couple. Mr. Albert as well as the other consultants were presented with tokens of appreciation from the parents.  The students received 2 DVDs each.  One was a DVD of all of their competitive performances for the season and the other DVD was entitled "The Journey" which is posted on this sight. Enjoy a few of the sights from the afternoon.
